Kutsinta

Kutsinta is a chewy rice cake made with all-purpose flour, tapioca flour and brown sugar. It is best enjoyed when topped with grated coconut. Despite its Filipino roots, Kutsinta may have derived its name from the Chinese word, “kueh tsin tao” which means little steamed cake.

Ingredients:

Water, Refined sugar, Grated coconut, All-purpose flour, Cassava flour, Lye water (water and sodium hydroxide u.s.p.), Potassium sorbate (preservative), FD&C red no. 40 (allura red), FD&C yellow no. 5 (tartrazine).

Preparation Procedure:
