Menudo is pork cooked in a rich tomato-based stew and often comes with carrots, potato, bell pepper, garbanzos and raisins. It is a mainstay in family celebrations and fiestas because it is tasty, filling and festive-looking. Menudo’s richness comes from a myriad of meats namely pork, hotdog, ham, and liver which makes the sauce even thicker.

Ingredients:

Pork, Red & Green Bell peppers, Carrots, Potato, Hotdog (Beef, Water, Modified Cornstarch, Sodium Phosphate, Sodium Diacetate), Onion, Vegetable Oil, Raisins, Menudo Mix (Tomato powder, Hydrolyzed corn protein, Onion powder, Salt, Garlic powder, Corn starch, Sugar, Soy sauce (soybean, wheat, salt), Chicken broth, Spices, Natural Flavor, Citric acid, Maltodextrin, Yeast extract, Disodium inosinate, Disodium guanylate, Rice vinegar powder (food starch-modified, rice vinegar), Annatto extract), Bay Leaf.

    Preparation Procedure:

    For best quality and food safety:

    • KEEP CHILLED.
    • REMOVE SLEEVE before cooking.
    • Refrigerate any leftovers.
    Stove Top:
    1. In a hot pan, sauté Garlic and Onion in Vegetable Oil for 1 min.
    2. Dissolve Menudo Mix in 1 1/2 cups Water and pour in the pan. Cover and boil for 2 mins.
    3. Add the rest of the ingredients and boil for 7 mins or until the sauce is thick. Stir occasionally.
    4. Turn off the heat.
    5. Add salt to taste.
    6. Stir and serve immediately.
