Chicken Afritada is a chicken and tomato stew made more flavorful with chunks of potatoes, carrots, and bell pepper. It is a popular Filipino dish that has been perfected by lolas or grandmothers for Sunday family gatherings. The tomato sauce is often made richer with butter, leaving one to beg for a bowl of steamed rice to go with it.

Chicken, Red & Green Bell Peppers, Onions, Potatoes, Carrots, Green Peas, Vegetable Oil, Afritada Mix (Tomato powder, Hydrolyzed Corn Protein, Onion Powder, Salt, Garlic Powder, Corn Starch, Sugar, Soy Sauce Powder, Chicken Powder, Spices, Natural Flavor, Citric Acid, Maltodextrin, Yeast extract, Red & Green Bell Peppers, Disodium Inosinate, Disodium Guanylate, Rice Vinegar Powder, Annatto Color), Bay Leaf.

    Preparation Procedure:

    For best quality and food safety:

    • REMOVE SLEEVE before cooking.
    • Refrigerate any leftovers.
    Stove Top:
    1. In a hot pan, sauté Garlic and Onion in Vegetable Oil for 1 min.
    2. Dissolve Afritada Mix in 1 1/4 cups Water and pour in the pan. Cover and boil for 2 mins.
    3. Add Chicken slices and the rest of the ingredients and mix well and let it boil using high heat for 5 mins.
    4. Reduce heat to simmer for another 2 mins. with occasional stirring until the sauce becomes thick.
    5. Turn off the heat.
    6. Add salt to taste.
    7. Stir and serve immediately.
