Kaldereta is a popular beef stew cooked in a deliciously rich and spicy tomato-based sauce. It is one of the Philippine’s classic dishes brought to the country by the Spaniards during the 3-year Spanish rule of the country. The name Kaldereta actually comes from the Spanish word caldera which means cauldron. Its rich stew has elevated Kaldereta to one of the top favored dishes served during fiestas and other special occasions.

    Preparation Procedure:

    For best quality and food safety:

    • REMOVE SLEEVE before cooking.
    • Refrigerate any leftovers.
    Stove Top:
    1. In a hot pan, sauté Garlic and Onion in Vegetable Oil for 1 min.
    2. Dissolve Kaldereta Mix in 1 1/2 cups Water and pour in the pan. Cover and boil for 2 mins.
    3. Add the rest of the ingredients, mix well and let it boil using high heat for 5 mins.
    4. Reduce heat and simmer for another 2 mins. with occasional stirring or until the sauce is thick.
    5. Turn off the heat.
    6. Add salt to taste.
    7. Stir and serve immediately.
